Association of Palliative and Hospice Care is finalizing the publication of "Severely sick children: Tips and recommendations". Aim group of the publication - parents with children, especially with HIV / AIDS, diabetes, chronic kidney disease / failure, cancer and other serious illnesses. The goal is to support these parents psychologically and with information, not to give them to fall into despair and be less dependant on standart formal sources.
A collection of tips and tricks to is about medical, psychological and social services to seriously ill children, prepared mainly by specialists in medical psychology. Briefly, we discuss some of the clinical features of the most common serious diseases, outline typical reactions of parents, which learn about the diagnosis, provide specific tips that can be useful to parents and relatives, medical and psychological advice and recommendations. Also specific recommendations for correction of increased anxiety in children, physical education of children with cerebral palsy is included. Authors list the addresses of public, private and charitable centers that provide assistance to seriously ill children in Kiev and the region, as well as the translation of some of the Australian standards of palliative and hospice care.

The publication is intended for parents of seriously ill children, but can be useful and interesting to the neurologist, psychiatrist, medical and clinical psychologists, social workers, participants of public and charitable organizations.
