With the support of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Policy, the transformation of children's homes begins at rehabilitation centers, palliative care and early intervention, which will provide social and medical services not only to children but also to families.
"Center for Rehabilitation and Palliative Care with Early Intervention Service" functions as a municipal non-profit enterprise and provides a family-oriented service for children with disabilities.
It is expected that in the near future a package of documents necessary for the transformation of a residential institution into the Center, which provides a complex of family-oriented services for children with disabilities, will be developed.
It is planned that the "Center for Rehabilitation and Palliative Care with Early Intervention Service" serves as a resource center for other Children's Homes, that is, provides methodological materials and advisory services on the creation of a new model of family-oriented community services for children with special needs
In 2016-2017, the Association of Palliative and Hospice Assistance conducted 7 trainings, attended by representatives of about 10 institutions where seriously ill children were present. In 2018, the Association plans to strengthen this work and strengthen the capacity of employees of institutions that help children.
